a good rendition of something horribly factual. as a woman, I found it heart-rending. (8/10)

I preferred and admired the style of the earlier parts -- especially the accomplished mix of historic detail, medical expertise, and erotic sensuality (from a dom's point of view). the 'exotic' setting of later parts seems less motivated. The author is at its best when accurately portraying the mechanics of systematic humiliation and degradation imposed by the historic inquisition. Keep it up, please! (9/10)

The story is improving. The author has made remarkable progress. Keep it up. (9/10)

Not badly written, but I found the story(s) brutal but unerotic. It may work as a semi-historical document, or as a catalogue of tortures, but the characters lack the spark of personality, and the incidents lack the spark of motivation. The author, who clearly has some talent, needs, IMO, to 'romanticize' the story a bit to enliven the characters. (6/10)

Not a bad story. Shame it finished in the first chapter. Could have been extended and detailed a bit more but for a first time, not bad at all. Hope to see more. (7/10)

Thanks for your encouraging words! I'm not a native English speaker and this was my very first effort.
I have many more ideas. There was, for example, the true story of Lady Alice Kyteler, the richest woman in Kilkenny, Ireland, who was hounded by a jealous Franciscan Bishop, Richard de Ledrede, who accused her of witchcraft. She fled to England, but her maid, Petronilla, was left behind and was tortured until she admitted that her mistress was a sorceress. Petronilla was then burnt alive.
Also there was the Hexenhaus (witch house) in Bamberg that had a yearly turnover of 400 witches. Interesting things happened in that specially built prison.
The first part of my story was intended as a sort of introduction and to illustrate the unsofisticated English methods. The idea of an apprentice only starts to evolve in the next part. New ideas and methods are taught to the apprentice, who later becomes the master.
Maybe I'll continue after the second chapter or maybe story writing is not for me. I still have to decide about this.

Title was not very appropriate for the story as it was not the strongest plot point for your writing. More dialog and description is necessary to make this as realistic as possible. Although an earlier reviewer claimed her fortitude unworldly, it is true that Anne Askew was racked until she was unable to walk, burned at the stake and NEVER recanted nor name any followers. However, more thoughts and description would be necessary to make this believable to the reader. (5/10)

Cute title, the proper level of violence for a story of this type, but the trite dialogue and the unworldly fortitude of the victim reduced somewhat my enjoyment of this story. I would hope that in future installments, if there are to be more, significant improvements in these areas would be made. (5/10)
