Normally, I'm not into 'spoofs', because generally they are about people. Here, it's not the characters of a series that are being spoofed, but the series itself, so that works 'better' for me. On the other hand, the story is a real letdown, as it reads like there's whole parts missing. The story is slowly building up, takes a twist as the gift is unwrapped and used, seems to skip a couple of chapters to come to the library scene where the gift unravels part of its mystery and then the story skips half a novel to a rushed end. The parts where Cassy comes to terms with the changes set in motion by the gift are sadly missing, as are the voluminous possible chapters where her love for the unorthodox is explained and expanded as are those where Brad takes control of the situation. All in all, the story feels like there was a main idea (a girl with a kink) and that later-on, other aspects were introduced (the gift, Brad's change of heart, Cassy's interest in girls) without throroughly working-out how the story should be adapted to welcome those other aspects... In the end, we are left with a tale that does not amaze us because of its Twilight-Zone quality, but instead has the reader wondering if the author forgot to post the real body of the tale. In the Twilight-Zone TV-series, usually everything fell into place at the end of each episode, slowly building until the audience had its "aha"-moment. Here the story slowly builds towards nothing at all and leaves the reader with a "wtf?"-moment, and has him/her desperately grabbing for the screenplay to see if there's more on the back, only to be confronted with a blank page... A pity, as the writer has obviously the skill to come-up with a decent story. JJ (6/10)

I can't believe this story hasn't been reviewed yet. It went a little fast (developed too quickly), but really did sort of suit the tempo of the old Twilight Zone shows. I really like WELL DONE spoofs, and this one is very well done. (10/10)
