I still have a "pa-so" (male longyi--as opposed to the female-worn "hta-main") somewhere, neatly folded. Fond memories a-plenty... Anyway, "Fun At The Beach" (or "An Afternoon At The Beach") is passable. Passable because of the decent writing. The story's content however, leaves a bit to be desired, because of the lack in depth. All we've got is a string of conversations and musings --which are both well done-- but the why and whatfor are missing, restraing the story in its two-dimensional confines, while it clearly struggles to become a three-dimensional surrounding. As such --while being a pleasant read-- the story leaves the reader, or at least myself, on his hunger. JJ (7/10)
