I think some people are missing the point, friendship/love can and does overcome social barriers. If slavery was leagl in the UK in 2011 and a friend had to be sold I would do my best to give them the money so they did not have to be sold. If for some reason a particular friend of mine had no choice but to be a slave (regardless of having money), I would move heaven and earth to buy him (and I am very, very hetrosexual). I would still want our friendship to be the same, it would be my way of helping a dear friend out of difficulty. I agree that in time the two girls may well find their friendship changes somewhat, but it has the chance of developing into a "devoted to one another Mistress/slave relationship". Basically I think this is a great story, spoilt by the writer clearly not writing in their native language. However if the reader can ignore the rather odd writing style then they will find an enjoyable little story - well in my opinion anyway. (9/10)

At only 9k in size this story has hardly began... but I like what I've read so far and hope that the author continues the story. (9/10)

I like this story and the fact that it's a bit understated. For example, the owner girl doesn't turn into a mega-bitch the very second that her friend is indentured to her. She is rather gracious to her, allowing her to live in her comfortable suit, but also mentioning that her friend now has to do as she's told. The opening of this story creates good potential for steady development and the inevitable transition in the lifestyle of the two girls as they grow to realize that they are drifting farther apart from being friends. Not that they really want to, but their status in society is impossible to overcome. (8/10)

Well I liked the 'take it for granted' type plot. No attempts to justify law, morals and rules, it just happens. (7/10)

To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to make of this story. The plot was simplistic without a real point, and the behavior of the characters made me feel as if the Melissa character, who despite being raised around slaves, was rather odd. I would have much preferred an immediate change in demeanor from Melissa toward Katie, that of Mistress and slave. It would have made the whole notion of having to be sold in the first place that much more tension filled. Imagine it. Katie finds out she is going to have to be sold into slavery (sexual most likely), something her dad had promised never to do to her. She fears what might happen to her... what if she gets a man, or even a woman, who abuses her? But Melissa comes to her rescue, kissing away tears, telling Katie that SHE will buy her. Katie sighs in relief, but later discovers that all of her previous fears are realized as Melissa doesn't just use her sexually, but abuses her, humiliates her in public, and ... * Ooops. Didn't mean to rewrite the story. But see what I mean? The story "My Slave, My Friend" lacked oomph. Not only that, but the whole "friendship" angle continuing was so... odd that it was tough to swallow. It was as if everyone in the story had taken mellow pills or was high on pot. Sure dude... whatever. * The story itself is well written, though the author could help the depth and complexity of the story by using more compound sentences. I didn't notice any glaring mistakes, which is great. * I would also recommend that author take some time to add descriptions. Through the entire story we are rarely provided any kind of setting, costuming, or even prop descriptions. The best description in the entire story was "Melissa had her own kitchen and TV room, a bathroom with her own hot tub, a walk-in closet, and a king-sized bed." One single sentence? Remember that authors are like movie makers. You not only have to write the screenplay, but you have to be the set designer, and the costumer, and the prop manager, and the lighting guy, and do all of this through the lens of your writing. This story is like a one act play with some cardboard sets. Costumes? Well, one girl is naked (yes thats a costume) and the other girl is... uh... dressed. In what? We have no idea, until she gets undressed too. * What we have here is an author with some unusual ideas of the relationship between master and slave. The writing style is pretty decent, and I look forward to reading more of his work. * Yours Faithfully, Michael Alexander (www.michaelalexanderstories.com) (7/10)

It is thus far a nice gentle story but told in somewhat stilted prose as if the author does not speak english as a first language, probably Japanese because the plot would have worked much better in the far east that the US where memories of slavery and its aftermath are so painful but it was a good read so 7 (7/10)
